the Today page. Weight, food, workouts and spending
Why I built it
I cycle, go to the gym, walk a lot and used to run. I love seeing what my health and sleep data says. Garmin and Strava both keep most of it behind a subscription. I wanted one app on my phone that showed me all of it.
How it grew
First it read my watch. Then I added the spending tracker I'd always wanted, and gym logging so I could stop paying for a gym app. Then food, which I've always found hard to keep on top of.
What it does
It reads my Garmin watch over Bluetooth, with no Garmin account. I wrote the code that talks to the watch. You can log a meal from a photo, a barcode or a receipt. AI on the phone turns the photo into foods and calories. It logs gym sets, with a rest timer on the lock screen, and shows 35 exercises with moving 3D figures. You can log spending from a home screen widget. There's no account and no server. Everything stays on the phone.
What I learned
Garmin watches delete the sleep and HRV files once they've sent them. If Garmin Connect gets them first, they're gone. My app has to get there first. It's also the first app I've built that I use every day. I notice straight away when something's missing.
